Tribute to the most beloved fairytale of my childhood:
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle.
I've just finished reading the book a week ago (a signed copy which I got from =
black-avalon
), then watched the animated movie again and couldn't help but draw something...<3
I drew the Unicorn and her human self - the Lady Amalthea.
I changed Amalthea's design a bit: her haircut + her dress (I made it dark violet instead of light so it would bring more contrast to the picture)...and overally made her moe. *laughs*
As for the background: I tried to do something in the style they had in the movie...
I basically grew up on this story....I think I first saw the animation some 18 years ago. I remember watching it in German - and even though I didn't understand the language, the story spoke for itself and left a deep impression on me...
If any of you don't know the story, I really recommend you to read the book. ^^
Also, have a pretty AMV of the animation:

Hope you like~

You really drew her splendidly well... Everything is perfectly well drawn: her facial expression, her fluttering hair and dress and even the atmosphere.
This picture reminds me of my treasured childhood (although I really love my 13 year old life) and how much I HAVEN'T changed.... Heheheh... ^_^U
You never seem to stop amazing and surprising me and I hope that you will continue to do so, in the future!
One of your many loyal and faithful followers,
Bara-chan~
I love The Last Unicorn <3 And " lilac wood " !
